Kuma (bear) - bear

Japanese: クマ(熊) - クマ
Kuma (bear) - bear
A general term for mammals of the Ursidae family in the Carnivora order. They have short tails and generally long, dense fur. Their limbs are thick and strong. Their snouts are prominent. They are found in Eurasia, North Africa, and North and South America. There are 7-9 species. They are good at climbing trees and swimming, and are omnivorous. They sometimes attack humans and livestock. In cold regions, they hibernate (physiologically similar to hibernation), during which time they usually give birth to two babies. Bear gallbladder is used as a stomach tonic, and their fur is used to make rugs. Asiatic black bears and brown bears live in Japan. Other species include polar bears, Malayan sun bears, and American bears.
