A revolutionary group that started the Xinhai Revolution in Wuchang in 1911 (the 3rd year of the Xuantong era). It was formed in Tokyo in 1907 by Jiao Dafeng (Sho Tappo), a member of the China Revolutionary League. It was critical of Sun Yat-sen's uprisings in the borderlands, and advocated uprisings in the interior. It also changed its platform of "average land rights" to "average human rights" and promoted it. It appealed to the party groups and new military forces in Hubei and Hunan, and in Wuchang it allied with the Literature Society, a group of non-commissioned officers and soldiers, to successfully launch an armed uprising on October 10. Jiao also established a revolutionary government in Hunan. Later, its conflict with the mainstream of the Tongminghui was exploited by Li Yuanhong and others, and it was dissolved.
