One of the indoor lighting devices used from around the Heian period. It is made by cutting a piece of pine wood into a length of 40-50 cm and a diameter of about 1 cm, wrapping the base in blue paper, and lighting the tip. It is also written as kamishoku (paper candle), because some people apply oil to the tip of the paper and light the fire.
