〘Noun〙 A type of horse equipment. An ornament for decorating the horse's mask when it is wearing a Chinese saddle. It is made long and thin from silver-plated or mirror-like material, and has a Chinese flower on the forehead, a flower-shaped branch on the bridge of the nose, and an iris shape on the upper part of the forehead. 〘名〙 馬具の一種。唐鞍をつける時、馬の面を飾る装飾具。銀めっきまたは鏡地で細長く作り、額には唐花、鼻筋には華形の枝、額の上部には菖蒲形(しょうぶがた)をつける。〔名語記（1275）〕
