An American company established in September 1980 through the merger of chemical company Dart Industries and food company Kraft Inc. Headquartered in Illinois. Sales are split into chemical products (taken over from the former Dart) for about 30%, and food products (taken over from the former Kraft) for about 70%. Dart was founded in 1902 as a diversified chemical products company, and in addition to plastic food containers known in Japan under the name Tupperware, it also produced and sold cosmetics, plastic products, glass containers, and high-performance batteries.
