Adbaryu - Adbaryu

...One of the four samhitas (collections) of the Vedas, the holy texts of Brahmanism in ancient India. It is a collection of yajus, or ritual texts, and is said to be under the jurisdiction of the adhvaryu, the priest in charge of performing ritual acts. Yajus are phrases that address deities, ritual implements, offerings, etc., in conjunction with ritual acts to effectuate the effect of a ritual, and are written mostly in prose.
