Megakaryocyte - megakaryocyte

These cells exist in bone marrow and form platelets. They are giant cells with a diameter of 40 to 150 micrometers, and only the nuclei of immature stem cells called megakaryoblasts divide to become megakaryocytes with complex, lobulated giant nuclei. A double membrane is formed in the cytoplasm of these megakaryocytes, which spread out in a mesh-like pattern and connect to each other to finely divide the cytoplasm. These divided parts become platelets.

骨髄に存在する細胞で、血小板を形成する。径40～150マイクロメートルの巨大細胞で、未熟な巨核芽球とよぶ幹細胞の核だけが分裂し、複雑な分葉巨大核をもった巨核球になる。この巨核球の細胞形質中に二重膜がつくられ、これが網状に広がり、互いにつながって細胞質を細かく区分する。この区分されたものが血小板となる。
