Born in the 18th year of the Shohei era (1600-1865). A Rinzai sect priest. He followed the teachings of Hirakawa Reishun and became the chief priest of Nanzen-ji and Tofuku-ji temples in Kyoto. He was also known as a scholar of Gozan literature. He excelled in calligraphy and painting, and left behind many temple plaques. He passed away on June 6th in the 4th year of the Hōtoku era (1600-1865). He was 90 years old. He was born in Yamashiro (Kyoto Prefecture). His works include "Tenman Daijizai Tenjinho Goki."
