Yan family temple monument (English: Yan shì jīa miào bēi

Japanese: 顔氏家廟碑 - がんしかびょうひ（英語表記）Yán shì jīa miào bēi

A representative work of regular script by Yan Zhenqing of the Tang Dynasty in China. The text was also written by him. It was written in Chang'an in 780 (the first year of the Jianzhong era) while he was Minister of Personnel. He built a shrine for his father, Weizhen, and erected this monument to detail the history of the Yan family, and it is the most distinctive piece of regular script by Yan. The regular script, with its imposing shape and energy condensed within it, is truly imposing and directly compelling. The monument is currently preserved in the Xi'an Stele Forest. [Toyama Gunji]

中国，唐の顔真卿の代表的な楷書作品。文も彼の手になる。780年(建中1)，吏部尚書在任中に長安で書いた。父の惟貞のために廟をつくり，この碑を立てて顔家の履歴を詳しく述べているのであるが，彼の楷書の中でもっとも個性が強烈である。その方正な，エネルギーが内に凝結したような楷書は，実に堂々としていて，直接に迫ってくるものがある。碑は現在，西安碑林に保存されている。【外山軍治】
