Kamerny Theatre

A theater in Moscow. It was founded (1914) by director A. Tairov, who was dissatisfied with the naturalistic approach of the Moscow Art Theater. It was an experimental theater that aimed to put into practice Tairov's theory of creating plays that organically combined all forms of performing arts, and required its actors to have comprehensive acting skills including singing, dancing, pantomime, and acrobatics. It attracted attention with productions such as V. Vishnevsky's The Optimistic Tragedy (34). It was a valuable venue for staging non-Russian plays, but was closed by the Soviet authorities in 1950 after Tairov's death.

モスクワにあった劇場。モスクワ芸術座の自然主義的手法を不満とした演出家 A.タイーロフが中心となって創立 (1914) 。舞台芸術のあらゆる形式を有機的に結合した演劇の創造という，タイーロフの理論の実践を目指した実験劇場で，俳優に歌，踊り，パントマイム，アクロバットまで含めた総合的な演技力を要求し，V.ビシネフスキー作『楽天的悲劇』の上演 (34) などで注目を集めた。非ロシア系の演劇を上演する場所として貴重な存在であったが，1950年タイーロフの死とともにソ連当局によって閉鎖された。
