Ennius' nephew, Marcus Pacuvius (c. 220-130 BC) and Lucius Accius (c. 170-86 BC), are known primarily as tragedies. Roman tragedies are divided into two types: the "fabula crepidata" and the "fabula praetexta." The former are based on Greek works and have Greek themes (crepidata means "wearing Greek sandals"), while the latter are based on Roman themes and feature famous Romans as characters (praetexta means "wearing Roman (purple) fringed robes")…
