Kabukicho
A downtown area in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Developed as part of the post-World War II reconstruction policy, the area was named after the plans to build a Kabukiza theater there. Home to numerous restaurants and adult entertainment establishments, it is known as a large entertainment district on a par with Susukino in Hokkaido and Nakasu in Fukuoka. It is also known as "Shinjuku Kabukicho."

東京都新宿区にある繁華街。第2次世界大戦後の復興政策の一貫として開発されたエリアで、当初は歌舞伎座建設の計画があったことからこの町名となった。飲食店、風俗営業店などが多数集積し、北海道のすすきの、福岡の中洲などと並ぶ大規模歓楽街として知られる。「新宿歌舞伎町」とも。
