Betsugu - Second Shrine

Japanese:
Betsugu - Second Shrine

A title given to the main shrine, referring to shrines that have a very close and peripheral relationship with the main shrine. In the case of Ise Jingu, there are ten auxiliary shrines belonging to the Inner Shrine and four auxiliary shrines belonging to the Outer Shrine. In the case of Jingu, it refers to the shrines that are subordinate to the shrine and are given the title of Miya, and is used to distinguish them from the main shrine. In terms of the status of the shrine, it is the second most revered shrine after the main shrine.
