Kabuki tea - Kabuki tea

Japanese: カブキ(傾)茶 - かぶきちゃ
Kabuki tea - Kabuki tea

...A noun derived from the conjunctive form of the verb kabuku, which means to tilt or bend. It was popular from the Azuchi-Momoyama period to the early Edo period as a word meaning something that is not normal, selfish behavior, extremely flashy and unusual clothing or clothes, or something that exudes a sexually conscious atmosphere. Just as the word basara was popular among the people as a word indicating a unique aesthetic sense, mainly during the turbulent period of the Northern and Southern Courts, this word was also popular as a unique catchphrase that succinctly describes the atmosphere of the turbulent times when the conflicts of the Warring States period were gradually leading to a time of unification under the nation.
