Student part-time job - gakusei arubaito

...In the situation immediately after the war, when the number of students dropping out or taking time off increased due to economic poverty, the need for part-time work became stronger. In response, university authorities began to actively arrange jobs, and the government also reorganized the Mobilized Student Aid Association (established in 1945) to establish the Working Student Aid Association (renamed the Student Aid Association in 1947, which still exists today) in July 1945. Since then, the number of student part-time jobs has increased due to the labor shortage after the high economic growth period, the progress of the service economy, the increase in leisure time and leisure boom, and the popularization of universities. Now, like in the United States, most students have experience of part-time work, and it is no longer possible to imagine them as a few poor students who studied while working (jobs such as clerk, waiter, newspaper delivery, and private tutor) as they were before World War II. In addition, the progress of the service economy in recent years has brought about a diversification of employment fields, making part-time work possible for people other than students.
