Joruri. Sewamono. 3 volumes. A collaboration between Tamekawa Sosuke, Nagakawa Shimesuke and others. It is said to have first been performed at the Edo Gaikiza Theater in the spring of 1782 (Tenmei 2). It is an adaptation of the double suicide of Oshun Shobei (Oshun Denbei in the play) that occurred in 1703 (Genroku 16) and the fight between a noble samurai and a vassal of the Shoshidai that occurred in 1738 (Genbun 38) at Shijo-gawara, and the awarding of a filial monkey-walker. The "Horikawa Sarumawashi" scene, which depicts the tragedy of the monkey-walker Yojiro's family, is considered one of the representative pieces of sewa joruri and is often performed even today.

浄瑠璃。世話物。3巻。為川宗輔，奈河七五三助 (ながわしめすけ) らの合作。天明2 (1782) 年春，江戸外記座初演といわれる。元禄 16 (1703) 年に起きた，おしゅん庄兵衛 (劇中ではおしゅん伝兵衛) の心中事件に，元文3 (38) 年に四条河原で起きた公家侍と所司代家来のけんかと，親孝行な猿廻しが表彰を受けた話題をからませ脚色。猿廻し与次郎の家の悲劇を描く「堀河猿廻し」の段は，世話浄瑠璃の代表曲の一つとされ，今日でもしばしば上演される。
