〘Noun〙 When two concepts have a relationship of subsumption and being subsumed, the concept that is subsumed. For example, the concept of "man" in relation to "animal." Lower concept. Species concept. ⇔Superior concept. ※Logic (1916)〈Hayami Akira〉1 "The relationship of a subsumed concept to the concept it subsumes is called a relationship of subordination, and that concept is called a lower concept."
