...Koneski is also famous for his poetry and short stories, but other writers include Slavko Janevski (1920-), Aco Šopov (1923-82), who wrote about the Second World War period, Mateja Matevski (1929-), Gane Todorovski (1929-), who was also a professor at the University of Skopje, Ante Popovski (1931-), Dimitar Solev (1930-), Simon Drakul (1930-), who excelled in historical novels, Vidoe Podgorec (1934-), known for his children's literature, Živko Čingo (1935-), and Vlada Urošević (1934-). In addition, a cultural week called "Ohrid Summer" is held every year, and the "Struga Poetry Night" attracts participants from all over the world. Theatrical activities are also thriving, with more than 1,000 performances being held each year.
