Aretaeus of Cappadocia
A Greek physician who lived around the 2nd century. He practiced medicine in Rome and Alexandria, and revived the teachings of Hippocrates. After his death, he was completely forgotten, but after his books "On the Causes and Indications of Acute and Chronic Diseases" and "On the Treatment of Acute and Chronic Diseases," written in the Ionian dialect, were discovered in 1554, he was reevaluated for their excellent content.
