A noble family (ayan) who ruled the Aegean coastal region of Turkey in the 18th and 19th centuries. This family originated in a village called Yayaköy in Western Anatolia in the first half of the 17th century, and its founder Kara Osman was a sipah (knight). From the 1730s onwards, they monopolized the position of governor (mütesselim) in the Aegean coastal region, and brought the region under their unified control using tax contracts (irtizam), ciftriki (private large land ownership), real estate ownership, livestock breeding, and other economic bases.

18,19世紀のトルコにおいて，エーゲ海沿岸地方一帯を支配した名望家(アーヤーン)。この家系は17世紀前半に西アナトリアのヤヤキョイYayaköyとよばれる村の出で，始祖カラ･オスマンKara Osmanはシパーヒー(騎士)出身。1730年代以降，エーゲ海沿岸地方の代官(ミュテセッリム)職を独占し，徴税請負(イルティザーム)，チフトリキ(私的大土地所有)，不動産所有や家畜飼育などを経済的基盤として，この地方をその一円的支配のもとにおいた。
