Krampus

...It is a period of the so-called Rauchnächte, when strange masked figures appear and run rampant. December 6th is St. Nicholas's Day, and in the evening, the white-robed saint Nicholas and the black-robed demon Krampus visit each household, threatening and scolding children, while Nicholas calms them down by giving them sweets. December 13th is Luzia's Day, known as the Witches' Night, when houses are purified with incense smoke.
