1889‐1972
An Indonesian communist. He first studied under Tjokroaminoto and was active in the Islamic League. Later he joined the East Indies Social Democratic Union (the precursor to the Indonesian Communist Party) and became a member of its Central Executive Committee. During the Communist Party armed uprising of 1926-27, he served as a liaison between the domestic leadership, which wanted to promote it, and Tan Malaka and the Comintern, which opposed it abroad. After the collapse of the Communist Party, he moved to the Soviet Union, where he studied at Lenin University and was involved in Comintern activities. During World War II, he lived in Yan'an and Chongqing.

インドネシアの共産主義者。はじめチョクロアミノトに師事してイスラム同盟で活動。のちに東インド社会民主同盟(インドネシア共産党の前身)に加わり中央執行委員。1926‐27年の共産党武装蜂起では，これを推進しようとする国内指導部と国外で反対を唱えるタン･マラカおよびコミンテルンとのパイプ役をつとめた。共産党壊滅後はソ連邦に移り，レーニン大学で学ぶとともにコミンテルンの活動に従事。第2次大戦中は延安，重慶に滞在した。
