Hypersensitivity - hypersensitivity

Semantically, it means an abnormally strong reaction in a specific individual to a weak stimulus that does not cause any reaction in a normal individual due to an increase in sensitivity to the stimulus, but it is usually used as a synonym for allergy. For example, immediate-type allergy is used as immediate-type hypersensitivity, and delayed-type allergy is used as delayed-type hypersensitivity.

語義的には、生体の刺激に対する感受性が亢進(こうしん)し、正常な個体ではなんらの反応も示さない弱い刺激に対して特定の個体が示す異常に強い反応性を意味するが、通常、アレルギーと同義語として用いられる。たとえば、即時型アレルギーを即時型過敏症、遅延型アレルギーを遅延型過敏症のように用いる。
