A samurai from the late Kamakura period. He was from Asuke, Kamo County, Mikawa Province (Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture). He was commonly known as Saburo (or Jiro). The Asuke clan was a vassal of the Kamakura Shogunate, but in 1285 (Kōan 8) they sided with the Adachi clan in the Shimotsuki Incident and had their land confiscated. They also served as the manor official of Takahashi Sho, a manor in the Asuke region under Emperor Hachijō, and became close to the Daikakuji clan. In 1331 (Genkō 1), Shigenori participated in a plot to overthrow the shogunate led by Emperor Godaigo, and when the emperor was discovered by the shogunate and fled to Mt. Kasagi (Kasagi Town, Soraku County, Kyoto Prefecture), he followed him. When Mount Kasagi was surrounded by the Shogunate forces, Shigenori fought back and defended against them, and his archery skills in particular caused trouble for the Shogunate forces. He was captured when Mount Kasagi fell, and was executed the following year in 1332 at Rokujo-gawara in Kyoto.
