A mountain in the western part of Iwate Prefecture, on the border with Akita Prefecture. It is also called Amida-dake. Its altitude is 1,439m. It belongs to the Mahiru Mountains, and the Kawafune Fault runs north-south on its eastern foot, while the Chiya Fault runs north-south on its western foot. It is a Neogene mountain that shows its mature appearance, and shellfish fossils have been discovered there. 岩手県西部,秋田県との県境にある山。阿弥陀岳ともいう。標高 1439m。真昼山地に属し,その東麓は川舟断層が南北に通り,西麓は千屋断層が南北に走る。新第三紀層の山で,壮年期の山容を示し,貝類の化石が発見される。
