A mountain range on the eastern edge of Jamaica in the Caribbean. The highest peak is 2,256 meters above sea level. The southern slopes of the range are known as an area that produces some of the best quality coffee in the world. In Jamaica, coffee trees are said to grow at altitudes of 700 meters or higher in order to produce high-quality coffee beans, and the cultivation area of the Blue Mountains is located at altitudes of 1,000 to 1,500 meters.
