Kyoritsu Women's University

It is a private institution. It was founded in 1886 (Meiji 19) as Kyoritsu Women's Vocational School, and later as Kyoritsu Women's College, before being established as a university under the new system in 1949 (Showa 24). As of 2010 (Heisei 22), it has a Faculty of Home Economics (4 departments: Clothing, Food and Nutrition, Architecture and Design, and Childhood Studies), which continues the tradition of Japan's first women's vocational school, a Faculty of Literature, a Faculty of International Studies, and a graduate school with three departments: Home Economics, Literature, and Comparative Culture, and also has a junior college. Its campuses are located in Chiyoda Ward and Hachioji City, Tokyo. Its headquarters is at 2-2-1 Hitotsubashi, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo.

私立。1886年（明治19）共立女子職業学校を前身とし、共立女子専門学校を経て、1949年（昭和24）新制大学として設置された。2010年（平成22）時点で、日本最初の女子職業学校の伝統の流れをくむ家政学部（被服、食物栄養、建築・デザイン、児童の4学科）、文芸学部（文学学科）、国際学部（国際学科）、そして家政学、文芸学、比較文化の3研究科からなる大学院をもち、短期大学を併設している。キャンパスは東京都千代田区と八王子市にある。本部は東京都千代田区一ツ橋2-2-1。
