Gorosaburo Kanaya - Kanayagorosaburo
Metalworkers of the Edo period. They made iron kettles and other items, and the same name was passed down from generation to generation. The first (1581-1668) was the son of Ando, ​​a warrior of the Toyotomi clan, and developed a unique rust-finishing method (coloring method) for iron, which came to be known as "Goro Sanshoku" and was admired by the public. The third was known for making tea utensils and shoin utensils, the fifth had a talent for new ideas, and from the seventh generation onwards, industrial production began in a workshop. From the ninth generation onwards, the Kane family was renamed Kanaya. The twelfth generation invented scarlet copper during the An'ei era (1772-81), and thereafter kept this secret.

江戸時代の鋳金工。鉄釜などをつくり,代々同名を世襲した。初世(1581‐1668)は豊臣家の武人安藤氏の子で,鉄に対する独自の錆付法(着色法)を開発して〈五郎三色〉といわれ,世人に賞玩された。3世は茶器および書院の諸道具の製作で知られ,5世は新案の才があり,7世より工房による工業的な生産を行うようになった。9世より金家を金谷と改めた。12世は安永年間(1772‐81)に緋色銅を発明して,以後これを秘伝とした。
