Kanaya Tanzen

Japanese: 金谷丹前 - かなやたんぜん

The title of a Nagauta, Ogie-bushi piece. It is said to have been written in 1753 (the 3rd year of the Horeki era). The lyrics and composer are unknown. An old-fashioned piece filled with the sweet sentimentality of a Niagari. Tanzen is a word that describes the customs of the Date clan, and the story is about a Tanzen man who visits a beautiful woman, but the piece also contains the loneliness, confusion, and subtle jealousy of a man whose beloved woman has been seduced. The first Ogie Royu was attracted to the delicate melody of this piece and adapted it into his own style, and today it has become a representative piece of Ogie-bushi, even more so than the earlier Nagauta. It has gentle choreography in the style of Jiuta dance.

長唄，荻江節の曲名。1753年(宝暦3)の作と伝えられる。作詞作曲者未詳。二上りの甘い感傷気分の満ちた古風な曲。丹前とは伊達（だて）風俗を表した語で，丹前男が傾城（けいせい）のもとへ通う筋であるが，思う女を寝取られた男の淋しさ，迷いとほのかな嫉妬を含んだ曲である。初世荻江露友がこの曲の繊細な旋律にひかれ，自流に移し，今日では先行長唄より荻江節の代表曲となっている。地唄舞風のしっとりした振りがつけられている。
