Yun-jian-pai (English spelling)

Japanese: 雲間派 - うんかんは（英語表記）Yun-jian-pai

A branch of the Wu school of painting that began in the late Ming Dynasty in China. Its founder, Shen Shichong, was from Songjiang (Jiangsu Province), so the school took its name from the old name of Songjiang, "Yunjian." After Shen Shichong, many other painters such as Jiang Zheng and Da Jue flourished in the late Ming Dynasty, but apart from the influence of Dong Qichang, there are few distinctive styles, and the group is considered to have been formed by local ties and a master-disciple relationship.

中国，明末に始る画派，呉派の一支派。祖とされる沈士充 (しんしじゅう) が松江 (江蘇省) の出身であったため，松江の古名「雲間」をとって派名とした。沈士充のあと蒋藹や大じゅら多くの画家を出し，明末に隆盛をみたが，董其昌 (とうきしょう) の影響をみるほかには画風上の特色は少く，地縁や師弟関係による画家集団とみられる。
