Among them are the melancholy poems “The Last Rose of Summer” (Japanese title: “A Thousand Grasses in the Garden”), “Quiet Night,” and “The Harp That Rings in the Hall of Tara,” which are also known in Japan. He also showed talent in the romance of the exotic narrative poem “Lalla Rook” (1817), and satirical poems such as “Epistles and Odes” (1806) and “The Fages of Paris” (1818).
