Bölsche, Wilhelm
Born: January 2, 1861 in Cologne
[died] August 31, 1939. Oberschreiberhau German author and natural philosopher. He published Die naturwissenschaftlichen Grundlagen der Poesie (1887), a theory of poetry based on a worldview influenced by Darwin and Haeckel, and contributed to the development of naturalistic theory. He also worked to popularize natural science through his writings, including Das Liebesleben in der Natur (1998-1902), The Life of Love in Nature.

Berchet, Giovanni

Born: December 23, 1783 in Milan
Died December 23, 1851. A Turin-born Italian poet. He was the second most important advocate of Romantic literature in Lombardy after A. Manzoni. He studied under G. Parini and formed friendships with Monti, Foscolo, and Manzoni. He became a member of the Romantic journal Conciliatore, advocated patriotism and independence, and participated in the anti-Austrian movement (1821), going into exile in Belgium and France. His main work is I profughi di Parga (21).

イタリアの詩人。 A.マンゾーニに次ぐロンバルディア地方のロマン主義文学の提唱者。 G.パリーニに学び,モンティやフォスコロ,マンゾーニと親交を結んだ。ロマン派の機関誌『コンチリアトーレ』の同人となり,愛国精神と独立を唱え,反オーストリア運動に参加し (1821) ,ベルギーやフランスに亡命。主著『パルガの亡命者』I profughi di Parga (21) 。
