A general term for minerals containing cadmium. Examples include greenockite (CdS), monteponite (CdO), otavite (CdCO 3 ) , and cadmoselite (CdSe), but occurrences other than greenockite are rare and unimportant. Greenockite belongs to the hexagonal crystal system, but rarely forms hemihedral crystals. It is usually yellow with a resinous luster and occurs as a powder or earthy coating. カドミウムを含む鉱物の総称。硫カドミウム鉱greenockite CdS，酸化カドミウム鉱monteponite CdO，オタバイトotavite CdCO3，セレンカドミウム鉱cadmoselite CdSeなどがあるが，硫カドミウム鉱以外の産出はまれで，重要でない。硫カドミウム鉱は六方晶系に属するが，異極半面像の結晶をなすことはまれで，ふつう樹脂状光沢の黄色を呈し，粉状または土状被膜として産する。
