...Even today, about 60% of the working population (1990) is engaged in fishing, and the town produces salmon, sardines, mackerel, and other fish, including kelp, which accounts for nearly half of the catch, and in recent years kelp has also been farmed. Part of the town is included in Esan Prefectural Natural Park, and it is home to the beautiful Kinao Coast with its cliffs and green dwarf pine trees, Furube Falls, Kakumi Onsen (simple spring, 45-50°C), and Isoya Onsen (salt-containing salt-sodium spring, 68-70°C).
