HN=C=S (59.09). In aqueous solution, it is tautomeric with thiocyanic acid N≡C-SH. In the gas form, more than 95% exists as isothiocyanic acid. H-N 0.993 Å, N-C 1.207 Å, C-S 1.567 Å. ∠HN-C 132°, ∠NC-S 174°. When dry powdered KSCN and KHSO ₄ are mixed and heated, a gas consisting almost entirely of HNCS is obtained. In the ester form, both isothiocyanic acid ester RNCS (R is a hydrocarbon group, e.g., H ₃ C-NCS) and thiocyanic acid ester RSCN (e.g., H ₃ C-SCN) are stably obtained. In the metal salt form, NCS ^- is linear in the crystals in the ionic form. Covalent metal salts and coordination compounds generally form N-coordinated isothiocyanate complexes with hard metals and S-coordinated thiocyanate complexes with soft metals (HSAB principle). HN=C=S(59.09)．水溶液中では，チオシアン酸N≡C-SHと互変異性の関係にある．気体では，95％ 以上がイソチオシアン酸型として存在する．H-N0.993 Å，N-C1.207 Å，C-S1.567 Å．∠H-N-C132°，∠N-C-S174°．乾燥した粉末状のKSCNとKHSO₄とを混合加熱すると，ほとんどHNCSのみからなる気体が得られる．エステルでは，イソチオシアン酸エステルRNCS(Rは炭化水素基．例：H₃C-NCS)，チオシアン酸エステルRSCN(例：H₃C-SCN)の双方の型のものが，それぞれ安定に得られる．金属塩では，イオン結合性のものではNCS^－は結晶中で直線形である．共有結合性のある金属塩や配位化合物では，一般に硬い金属ではNで配位したイソチオシアナト錯体を，軟らかい金属にはSで配位したチオシアナト錯体を形成する([別用語参照]HSAB原理)．[CAS 3129-60-6]
