Confessor - Confessor

A Catholic term. A priest who hears confessions of sins and grants absolution during the sacrament of reconciliation. In such personal confessions, people are free to choose a certain priest so that they can receive effective personal guidance. Therefore, in many cases, the guiding priest becomes the confessor. カトリックの用語。〈ゆるしの秘跡〉の典礼において，罪の告白を聴き，赦免を与える司祭。このような個人告白の際，個人指導を効果的に受けられるよう，一定の司祭を選ぶ自由がある。したがって指導司祭が聴罪司祭となる場合が多い。告白された罪の秘密は教会法によって厳守されている。【土屋 吉正】
