Located in Kume-cho, Kashihara City, Nara Prefecture. Enshrining Emperor Jimmu and Empress Himetataraisuzuhime. The shrine is located on the former site of Emperor Jimmu's Kashihara Palace. In 1888 (Meiji 21), the palace site southeast of Mount Unebi was examined, and in May of the following year, a petition to establish a shrine was submitted to the government by private citizens, which was approved. Emperor Meiji donated the Kashikodokoro and Shinkaden of the former Kyoto Imperial Palace, and the shrine was constructed the following year in 1890, and the shrine was established on April 2nd, becoming a Kanpei Taisha (Great Shrine of the Kanpei). Emperor Jimmu succeeded the three generations of Hyuga Emperors and entered Yamato (Nara Prefecture), where he is said to have ascended to the throne with his wife Himetadatakaisuzuhime, the daughter of Omononushi-no-kami, who resides on Mt. Miwa. The main hall was built in 1855 (Ansei 2) at the former Kyoto Imperial Palace Kashikosho, and the Shinkaden, which was donated at the same time, is now used as the Kaguraden (Sacred Dance Hall). The grounds were expanded and improved in 1940 (Showa 15) as part of the Imperial 2,600th anniversary commemoration project, with the help of volunteer work by the people, and now cover an area of about 540,000 square meters. The annual festival is held on February 11th. In addition, the spring festival on April 3rd is the Emperor Jimmu Festival, commonly known as "Jinmu-san," and various Kannigiwai (celebratory) events are held. The autumn festival is held on October 3rd. [Junichi Kamata] Inner worship hall.
