Adrenergic receptors

...Includes sympathomimetics, sympatholytics, parasympathomimetics, parasympatholytics, autonomic ganglion stimulants, and autonomic ganglion blockers.
[Sympathomimetic agents]
Sympathetic nerve excitation is transmitted when noradrenaline (norepinephrine), released from the nerve endings due to excitation, binds to adrenergic receptors on effector cells. Adrenergic receptors are classified into alpha receptors (α receptors) and beta receptors (β receptors), and it is thought that the ratio of the two varies depending on the organ.
