Munetoshi Aoyama

Japanese: 青山宗俊 - あおやまむねとし

1604-1679 A daimyo in the early Edo period.
Born on November 6, 1606. The eldest son of Aoyama Tadatoshi. His father incurred the wrath of Tokugawa Iemitsu and both were placed under house arrest, but were later pardoned and became the head clerk and chief clerk of the Shoin. In 1618, he became the lord of Komoro Domain in Shinano (Nagano Prefecture). He later served as the governor of Osaka Castle, and in 1670, he became the first head of the Aoyama family to rule Hamamatsu Domain in Totomi (Shizuoka Prefecture) with a fief of 50,000 koku. He died on February 15, 1670, at the age of 76.

慶長9年11月6日生まれ。青山忠俊の長男。父が徳川家光の勘気にふれ,ともに蟄居(ちっきょ)したが,のちゆるされ書院番頭(ばんがしら),大番頭となる。正保(しょうほ)5年信濃(しなの)(長野県)小諸(こもろ)藩主。のち大坂城代をつとめ,延宝6年遠江(とおとうみ)(静岡県)浜松藩5万石の藩主青山家初代となる。延宝7年2月15日死去。76歳。
