Side drum

Japanese: side drum（英語表記）sidedrum

...A large drum with a very shallow body and one side is called a gong drum. A small drum, which produces a hard, crisp sound, is also called a snare drum because several snares (resonating wires) are stretched in contact with the membrane on the side that is not the striking surface, and is also called a side drum because it is hung slightly to the left of the front of the body when playing while walking. A snare is a string made of gut strings or thin wire wound in a spiral shape.
