Kagamiishi [town] - Kagamiishi
A town in Iwase County in the southern part of the Nakadori region in south-central Fukushima Prefecture. Most of the town is a hilly plateau, sandwiched between the Abukuma River in the east and the Shakadō River in the west, with rice fields. The town's center is Kasaishi along the Tohoku Main Line, and it developed as a post station on the Oshu Kaido road. It produces mainly rice, but also cucumbers, tomatoes, apples, and strawberries, and also raises livestock. The town suffered damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake. 31.30 km2 . 12,815 people (2010).
