Also, in volume 31 of the Konjaku Monogatarishu, there is a story about a drunk woman selling sweetfish sushi who vomits into the bucket in which her goods are kept, then hurriedly stirs it up and pretends not to notice, and the author comments that 'sushi ayu is as disgusting as the original', meaning that sweetfish sushi was originally such a disgusting thing.
