A minister in the reign of Emperor Injong (1122-1146) of the Goryeo Dynasty, Korea. His pen name was Raisen, and his posthumous name was Munryeol. He was from Gyeongju. He passed the civil service examination during the reign of Emperor Sukjong (1095-1105), and was promoted to the ranks of Middle Secretary of the Ministry of Rites, Secretary of the Ministry of Rites, Minister of Home Affairs, Hanlin Scholar, and Judge of the Ministry of Military Affairs during the reigns of Emperors Yejong (1105-1123). In 1135, when the evil monk Myocheong started a rebellion in Seogyeong, he became a marshal and put down the rebellion, and was promoted to the rank of Monka Shijun for his merit. He retired from his official position in 1142 at the age of 68. He compiled the "Samguk Sagi" by royal command, and also compiled the annals of the reigns of King Yejong and King Injong. His work is recorded in volume 98 of the "History of Goryeo," and although his collected writings have not been handed down, his poems are known from the "Eastern Moonseon" and other sources.

朝鮮、高麗(こうらい)、仁宗(じんそう)(在位1122~46)朝の宰臣。号は雷川(らいせん)、諡(おくりな)は文烈(ぶんれつ)。慶州の人。粛宗(しゅくそう)(在位1095~1105)代に科挙に合格し、睿宗(えいそう)(在位1105~23)・仁宗代に礼部郎中、中書舎人、礼部侍郎、戸部尚書、翰林(かんりん)学士承旨、判兵部事と累進。1135年妖僧(ようそう)妙清(みょうせい)が西京で乱を起こすと元帥となって鎮圧し、功によって門下侍中となる。42年に68歳で官を退いた。王命により『三国史記』を編修し、また睿宗、仁宗の実録を編修。『高麗史』巻98に伝があり、文集は伝わらないが、その詩文は『東文選』などによって知られる。
