〘名〙① 表面が平らな入れ子板。天井、戸、腰羽目などに用いるもの。〔改正増補和英語林集成(1886)〕② 能舞台のうしろ正面に張る羽目板。普通、老松を描く。この松は奈良春日神社の影向(ようごう)の松をかたどったものといわれる。※承応神事能評判(1653)翁「さてまくを上るみぎりに、鏡板に立たる時」③ 馬具の一つ。銜(はみ)がはずれるのを防ぎ、面掛(おもがい)に取り付けるために轡(くつわ)の両端につける金具。轡鏡板。④ 丸ボイラー、圧力容器などの円筒形容器の天地または前後両端部の一枚板。
