Capital is a growing body of value that converts into money, commodities, etc., and earns profits over a certain period of time. Moreover, when this type of capital earns profits based on the production process, it becomes industrial capital, and therefore industrial capital is constantly changing form into monetary capital (G), productive capital (P), commodity capital (W') containing surplus value, and monetary capital (G') containing surplus value, repeating the process of growth. The turnover period of capital refers to the period from when industrial capital starts out as capital in the form of advances, i.e., productive capital or monetary capital, to when it returns to the same form of capital.
