…The Song Dynasty established 15 to 23 districts as supervisory divisions above the prefectures and counties, and their chiefs were called supervisors. Specifically, there were four divisions: the Junyunsi, which was mainly in charge of personnel and finances; the Jiten Prison Division, which was in charge of police and justice; the Anbusi, which was in charge of military affairs; and the Jijo Chongpingsi, which handled special finances. They were also called the Caoshi, Kensi, Shusi, and Cangsi. These four divisions had their offices in different prefectures within the same district, and their duties were not necessarily clearly divided. …
