Measures for protection - Kango no sochi

...A national facility that temporarily houses delinquent juveniles and assesses their qualities, belonging to the Ministry of Justice (Juvenile Training School Act, Articles 16 and 17). When a family court takes protective custody measures against a juvenile for the purpose of conducting a trial, the juvenile is sent to and detained in a juvenile classification home (Juvenile Act, Article 17). Juvenile classification is carried out using specialized knowledge in medicine, psychology, education, sociology, etc., and the results are used at each stage from investigation, trial, and execution of protective measures.
