Bottom trawl fishing - Dragnet fishery

Bottom trawl fishing - Dragnet fishery
This is a type of fishing that involves sinking a fishing net (bottom trawl) to the seabed and dragging it along the sea. It ranges from coastal fishing by small fishing boats to deep-sea bottom trawl fishing by trawlers and mechanized boats. In the waters around Japan, the border is 128°30′ east longitude, and it is divided into west trawl fishing and east trawl fishing (also called offshore bottom trawl fishing, west of 153° east longitude). The west trawl fishing area is mainly the East China Sea and the Yellow Sea, while the east trawl fishing area is the East China Sea, the Pacific Ocean, the Sea of Japan, and the Sea of Okhotsk, and the fishing methods of the fishing boats are also different. The best fishing areas are those with a shallow seabed and no obstacles, but because the fishing is done indiscriminately, there are many problems with coordination with small-scale fisheries and resource conservation. From the standpoint of resource conservation, this is a licensed fishing area, and strict regulations are imposed.
