Born in 1570. The eldest son of Okudaira Nobumasa. His mother was Tokugawa Ieyasu's eldest daughter, Kamehime. During the Battle of Sekigahara, he followed Tokugawa Hidetada and attacked Ueda Castle in Shinano (Nagano Prefecture). In 1603, he became the first head of the Okudaira clan, the lord of Utsunomiya Domain in Shimotsuke. He had a fief of 100,000 koku. He died on October 10, 1614. He was 38 years old.
