Striated muscle

A muscle made up of striated muscle fibers. As opposed to smooth muscle. When viewed under a microscope, muscle fibers have fine stripes running horizontally. These are called striations. All skeletal muscles are striated, but even visceral cardiac muscles are striated. 横紋筋繊維よりなる筋。平滑筋の対。顕微鏡でみると筋繊維に横に走る細かいしま模様がある。これを横紋という。骨格筋はすべて横紋筋であるが，内臓筋でも心筋は横紋筋である。横紋筋は平滑筋よりすみやかに収縮することができる。→筋肉
